Federal Reserve Wants to Issue Debt

Wednesday, December 10, 2008 8:10

The WSJ reports that Federal Reserve is now said to be thinking of issuing it’s own debt. The concept could include selling bills or some other form of notes. This would be the first time in history for such an action  be taken.

The mainstream media has already begun to sell the idea to the public citing that the action would give the fed more “Flexibility to stabilize the market.” No specifics as to how this would be achieved.

Why would the federal reserve need to issue debt? Why does the “Lender of last resort” need to borrow money? They have monopolistic control over the US currency and print money at will.

What would these new bonds be backed by? The full faith and credit of the United States? The federal reserve is independent of the Unites States.

Does the Federal Reserve have any constitutional authority to issue bonds? I know that’s sill to ask considering that the entire federal reserve system is unconstitutional.

The media needs to ask these questions and we must demand them answered.

Don’t you get it ? The Fed has just said by mooting that, that it is the govt in waiting, and not really Obama.

The events of Sep 29 and Oct 3 re the $700Bn bailout were nothing short of astonishing – and no need to relate details here, the biggest in your face heist in American history; and in daylight !

Clearly, having mulled over the fact that Congress turns out to be more supine than what they are intimidated to be, they have been emboldened to fly this kite with a bit of media promotion to see the general reaction amongst the somnalent American public.

If the response is indifferent and or lacking in comprehension, then, joy of joys, the step after this is the formal announcement that henceforth Congress will be consulted on economic, social and foreign policy.
