KB Toys declares bankruptcy; Faces Liquidation
Thursday, December 11, 2008 15:25The nations number 2 toy retailer, KB stores has declared bankruptcy and will close down it’s 277 stores citing a “sudden” drop in sales. The companies 11,000 employees will be left looking for work.
KB Stores was founded in 1922. The store began as a candy wholesaler and later grew to become one of the largest toy store retailers in the world. KB was able to make it through the first great depression but couldn’t manage to survive the current collapse.
The company plans to launch a going-out-of-business sale at all of its current stores, “in order to take advantage of the last two weeks of the holiday selling season,” KB Toys said in a filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Wilmington, Del.

Bankruptcy for the #2 Toy seller is no joke. Where is their bailout? What about the children? Meanwhile the banksters steal, loot, gut this country and laugh all the way to their offshore banks.

I love the current ’shake-down,’ this slow death-spiral of anglo-centric western capitalism. Soon, people will learn to value basic stuff again, things like rice, wheat, vegetables, even plain aluminum pots, the kind you can make a sumptous stone soup in.

You people all worry about the loss of jobs. Stop worrying. China is going to be looking for really cheap labor with their people becoming more affluent. So, just hold on a little bit longer and there will be plenty of jobs doing piecework for China. And then the old “Made in USA” can come back!!!!
