Obama to Launch Recovery.gov Website

The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (The bailout bill of the week) calls for the launch of a new Recovery.gov website. The website is to be managed by a newly created Recovery Act Accountability and Transparency Board. Its purpose is to provide transparency to the public as to where and how their tax dollars are being spent. The bill describes the requirements of the new site as follows:
Requires publication on the website Recovery.gov of: (1) all federal agency plans for using funds made available in this Act, as well as all related grant announcements; and (2) all federal, state, or local agency public notices regarding funds obligated to particular infrastructure investments.
Whether or not I agree with Obama’s economic policies, it is refreshing to see the effort being made to disclose the appropriation of public funds. I would suggest creating such a site for the Federal Reserve. The vast majority of money pumped into the system has been through the secretive federal reserve who refuses to disclose details of transactions. If we aren’t going to abolish the fed, let’s at least bring them into the light.

Well written post. Over time I recovered from depression but it took medication, counseling and also a lot of personal development. Are there any good forums you would recommend?
