Blitzer’s ‘Hypocrisy’ Charge: How Moore SHOULD Have Responded (Video)

We’re all familiar with the now famous 2006 Wolf Blitzer interview of Michael Moore during the promotion of the film Sicko. Blitzer attacked Moore’s film, questioning the factual accuracy of his assertions. Moore responded by savaging Wolf Blitzer’s reporting during the lead-up to the Iraq war. Moore would later post on his website all of the references which were the basis for his arguments in the film “Sicko.”
Blitzer is at it again (see video below) badgering Michael Moore about the apparent ‘Hypocrisy’ of a successful film maker who, in his new film, challenges the “Capitalist” system which allowed for his success. Moore responded by defending his morality but stopped short of pointing out the obvious hypocrisy that is Wolf Blitzer.
Wolf Blitzer is the TV news host of “The Situation Room” on CNN. Millions of Americans tune into his show to get the latest news on issues such as the Iraq War, Afghanistan, Iran and Israel-Palestine. I would guess that most of his viewers no idea who Wolf Blitzer is. If they did, they may question the objectivity of his mid-east reporting.
Blitzer began his journalist career in the early 1970s when he began working for Reuters in Tel Aviv, Israel. In 1973, Blitzer was hired as a journalist for the right wing Israeli newspaper “The Jerusalem Post.” Mr. Blitzer spent the next 17 years working there. While at JPost, Blitzer held a position at the right wing Israel lobbying group AIPAC (American Israeli Public Affairs Committee). In 1990, Wolf Blitzer began working for CNN where he has spent most of his career.
In 1985, Mr. Blitzer authored an Op-ed (see a copy here) in the NY Times titled: “A Defense Pact With Israel Now.” As the title suggests, Blitzer argued for a formal defense pact to be signed by the two countries. At the time, US-Israeli relations were strained after the arrest of Jonathon Jay Pollard, an American Intelligence official who was caught selling state secrets to Israel. “It may seem ridiculous to press this notion now, at a time when the two countries are at such odds,” Blitzer writes. “But that is precisely the reason to accelerate this project.”
Isn’t is hypocritical, Moore should have asked, that a former lobbyist for the right wing of Israeli politics is now a journalist who reports Middle East issues to the American people? Would we want an insurance company lobbyist reporting on health care? A weapons industry lobbyist reporting on war?

If the majority of us were smart (we’re not) we would oppose capitalism. In such a system, the only people who ultimately thrive are those who are good at it. Similarly, if our system valued strength (or physical violence), pro football players might be at an advantage. If our system were based on sharing and compassion…aw heck, who am I kidding.
Moore needs to keep pounding the point that the game is rigged for those with a competitive advantage. “Unfettered” capitalism means “unregulated.” That’s how they want it. How many of us would play a sport or game with no rules and for how long? The point needs to be made that our system needs far more regulation to keep the crooks in line. Either that or we need to scrap capitalism for a system that values something other than money.

What do you expect from a Zionist player Blitzer in the media propaganda machine CNN? At least he didn’t change his strange German name into something English like Michael Savage. For more, better know about The Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion.
