Do We Really Care About Democracy? #IranElection

Friday, June 19, 2009 21:46 41 Comments

After being  victims of multiple false and propagandistic  media campaigns one would think that we would be able to read between the lines when our mainstream media sources act in lockstep with one another in marketing the agenda du jour.
Have we already forgotten the “flowers and candy” which the gracious Iraqi people were going to [...]

John Bolton’s Iranian Erection

Thursday, June 11, 2009 17:59 12 Comments

John Bolton is a man obsessed with war in the middle east and, in particular, with Iran. Indeed, it seems that promoting a war with Iran has become his full time job. As early as 2003, he was quoted by the Israeli newspaper Ha’aretz  saying he has “no doubt America will attack Iraq and that [...]

Media Calls a Bottom as Credit Market Calls for Panic (Charts)

Tuesday, March 24, 2009 15:29 1 Comment

Much has been made (mostly by the mainstream media) over the recent rally in the Dow Jones Industrial Average. Many of the usual suspects, including those that have been wrong for the past 3 years, have been quick to call a bottom. We, as technicians, tend to pay little attention to CNBC, Fox Business, etc. [...]

Bailout for The Mainstream Media May be Next

Saturday, March 7, 2009 16:59 25 Comments

One of the silver linings of this economic depression is the collapse of mainstream media companies and the creation of internet blogs along with citizen journalism. While this media shift is ongoing and certain, a question arises – Will the government, in further effort to keep their political-financial-media power in tact, bailout big media?
Does the [...]

Forecast 2009: There Will Be Blood

Tuesday, February 3, 2009 21:00 42 Comments

2009 will be a year of complete destruction for the US economy. 5 Million will lose their jobs. The Dow Jones Industrial average will break below 6,000. Municipalities will fail. Insurers will fail. The unemployed and foreclosed American population will take to the streets and begin rioting. The Greatest Depression is upon us.
Sound far fetched? [...]

Federal Reserve Wants to Issue Debt

Wednesday, December 10, 2008 8:10 3 Comments

The WSJ reports that Federal Reserve is now said to be thinking of issuing it’s own debt. The concept could include selling bills or some other form of notes. This would be the first time in history for such an action  be taken.
The mainstream media has already begun to sell the idea to the public [...]

Buy and Hold Debunked: What Your Broker Isn’t Telling You

Friday, December 5, 2008 16:36 12 Comments

I’m amazed at the amount of optimistic propaganda peddled by the mainstream media as well as major investment houses. Countless are their graphs and comparisons which claim that buying and holding stocks is the best way to grow capital. They tell you that the average return of the stock market is 10% and if [...]

Saudi Prince Profits From US Taxpayer Bailout of Citigroup

Monday, November 24, 2008 16:46 No Comments

On November 20th, 2008 it was announced that Saudi Prince Alwaleed bin Talal bought up shares of Citigroup (NYSE: C) increasing his holdings to 5% of the total outstanding shares. The move seemed quite daring at the time as Citigroup’s shares were in freefall dropping 25% in the previous trading day alone (down over 90% [...]
